TERALOGIC ADVANCES DIGITAL TELEVISION

TERALOGIC, developers of integrated circuits, software and platforms for digital TV, have introduced an architecture that will enable advanced features for digital home entertainment devices.
Teralogic’s latest chipset and platform will provide added functionality and integration for digital TV products such as digital video recorders, set top boxes and interactive television from consumer electronics manufacturers Replay and Mitsubushi.
Engineering of ReplayTV, SVP, Jeff Hastings said: “Teralogic’s chipset is the missing link that will raise the standards for a superior digital TV experience. With this flexible and global architecture unifying our product capabilities, our ability to quickly deliver a new DVR with expanded features and advanced user interfaces will increase dramatically.”
Teralogic’s TL812 and TL851 ICs comprise the world’s first and only chipset that will enable customers to experience a new level of digital TV features, including digital picture-in-picture (PIP), simultaneous watch, record video and pause in PVRs as well as advanced graphics for interactive TV applications.
In addition, the TL812 and TL851 integrated chipsets are compatible with all US, Japanese and European broadcast standards including the descrambling algorithms used in cable, satellite and terrestrial delivery.
