GRANADA ENTERPRISES WIN UTV SALES BID

UTV have appointed Granada Enterprises as their advertising sales agent for the next five years.
Managing Director of UTV John McCann said: “Granada emerged as the strongest contender for this contract because they offer the best synergies with our existing operation. Granada demonstrated a unique knowledge of the Irish and UK Television markets and we feel this relationship will serve to increase our already strong presence in the industry.”
Chief Executive Officer at Granada Enterprises Mike Desmond said: “The deal enhances our ITV sell and our presence in Ireland, as we will be maintaining the local sales team in both Dublin and Belfast.”
Although UTV represents only two per cent of ITV’s revenue the company is a strategic player in the Irish broadcasting market. This deal, which commences on January 2001, means that Granada Enterprises now sells for 35.4 per cent of the advertising revenue.
