Telmap and Navteq to provide a version of Telmap Navigator based on Lonely Planet content for Barcelona

Telmap, a world-leading provider of mobile Mapping and Navigation solutions, and NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, have announced a special offering of the Telmap Navigator solution for Barcelona based on content from the popular travel guide, Lonely Planet.
"Telmap Navigator with Lonely Planet for Barcelona" will be available for download from www.Telmap.com/LonelyPlanet-Barcelona at no cost, for three weeks from February 6, covering the entire time that 3GSM World Congress attendees will be in Barcelona.
Attendees will be able to download the application "over the air" directly to their mobile devices. During 3GSM, a printed version of the guide will be available at show venues. Using Telmap Navigator with Lonely Planet for Barcelona, 3GSM attendees will be able to utilize their mobile phones to get around town with maximum ease. They will be guided by all the information available in the printed guide, enhanced by additional NAVTEQ-supplied map data and rich Points of Interest (POIs) content, along with Telmap's print-quality maps and powerful navigation capabilities.
"Content is a key element in our mobile navigation offering, and our platform is designed for optimal use of information from a wide variety of sources," said Oren Nissim, CEO of Telmap. "This combination of the Lonely Planet content with our unmatched real-time mapping and navigation capabilities is an excellent example of how we can seamlessly integrate third party premium content into the Telmap Navigator solution."
"We are very pleased to be working with, a close and long-standing partner, to provide 3GSM attendees with this service," he continued. Serge Bussat, Vice President Consumer Applications at NAVTEQ, said: "We are proud of this joint project with Telmap. We believe the combination of NAVTEQ's comprehensive content with Telmap's excellent mapping and navigation solution provides the best, most complete solution for Operators and their customers."
