Zandar Technologies launch multi-functional Predator with ZdHTM power

Zandar Technologies has launched the latest addition to its HDTV line of video and audio monitoring MultiViewers, combining an unprecedented level of functionality and industry leading display quality for the growing HDTV control rooms and monitoring market.
The Predator HD8 is a new, affordable, high performance HDTV video and audio monitoring MultiViewer system with class leading features, including Zandar’s outstanding new Z-Configurator user software and dynamic ZdHTM Zandar Dual Head display facility.
This compact 1RU system is packed with an unprecedented level of functionality for control rooms, studios and mobile HDTV systems. It has eight auto sensing inputs allowing both HDTV 720p and 1080i formats and legacy SDI (270Mb/s) signals to be used together, bridging the migration to HDTV signal formats.
With industry leading image quality the Predator HD8 can be used to display eight images on one ultra high resolution display or mode-switched to display the eight images across two displays. In standard operation, the HD8 provides a single high resolution output up to WUXGA or 1080p for HDTV monitoring and a duplicate of that for a redundant or secondary monitoring or distribution. When ZdH is enabled, the Predator is converted to a wall processor, enabling the display of sources across the virtual monitor wall, including spanned across the two displays.
A refinement of this is Zandar’s DualQuad mode, which splits the system into two independent Quads neatly combined in a cost effective 1RU unit. ZdH may be switched on or off, enabling multi-functional use from this clever Predator.
Following in the footsteps of previous generations of products, this new product line is most comprehensively equipped with input source auto-detection, embedded audio monitoring, GPI inputs and outputs and user configurable alarms, all included as standard. The integral, user-configurable alarm system negates the need for external monitoring equipment by providing users with automatic warnings in the event of video and audio loss or degradation, such as loss of video sync, frozen picture and black picture detection. Furthermore, Predator’s open architecture allows it to display UMD and tally information from external devices such as third party routing and tally systems as well as clocks and timecode.
The Predator HD8 set-up is simple and control is via the on-screen graphical display (OSD), the flexible Z-Configurator layout editing software and the optional Zandar Remote Panel (ZRP).
The new Predator HD8 is based upon proven technology and is ideally suited to control room, studio and OB truck applications where it provides the highest image quality and most comprehensive feature set at very affordable prices, like its sister offering, the Predator HD4 Quad.
