ITN'S CATHERWOOD REJOINS ITV NEWS
ITN’s Andrea Catherwood is to rejoin the ITV news team in January 2001.
She will be one of ITV’s top News Correspondents, working on a range of home and foreign stories as well as undertaking some newscasting.
Catherwood moves from Channel 5 where she has been the presenter of the main evening news for the past year. She has covered a wide range of news stories for Channel 5 including the recent US Presidential Election, the football violence in Charleroi during Euro 2000 and the Concorde disaster.
Catherwood said: “It’s been a great year presenting 5 News and it’s always sad to leave anywhere, but I’m looking forward to returning to ITV News and I am delighted that I’ll still be within the ITN fold.”
An experienced journalist and presenter, Catherwood joined ITN’s news service on ITV as a Senior Reporter in April 1998.
She was appointed Medical Correspondent for ITV News in March 1999 and combined this role with newscasting, presenting some editions of the ITV Lunchtime News as well as weekend programming. (CD)
