OmniBus focus on delivering automation and workflow at IBC

The theme of the OmniBus presence at IBC 2005 is ‘Delivering Automation and Workflow Products’, reflecting the fact that not only are all the products being demonstrated on the presentation area of the OmniBus stand full general availability (GA) releases, having passed rigourous quality assurance (QA) testing, but that these same products also are installed and on-air, managing more than 200 channels worldwide.
The OmniBus OPUS Content Management and Workflow Suite v1.1 comprises fully integrated, task-based products that unlock the value of video content. The OPUS Suite v1.1 has all the features and integration expected from a market-leading content management and workflow product, including ‘Soft XML’ metadata providing unlimited user-defined elements and hierarchy (tracks); logged event ranking and filtering on track, clip, or global bases; seamless shot list/EDL publishing to AVID Unity and GVG Profile systems; metadata searching including thesaurus, phonetic, proximity, and stem searches; and full indexing and searching of user-defined metadata.
The OPUS Suite v1.1 breaks down complex video content management operations into individual elements of functionality, seamlessly integrating the searching, viewing, and moving of video content at the desktop. Business workflows, operational processes, and content are integrated through a high-level task-management layer, with rich interfaces to external systems enabling the broadcaster to implement enterprise-wide, best-of-breed content management solutions.
The OmniBus Automated Transmission Suite v3.1 offers a perfect mix of affordability and high functionality for playout centers of all sizes. Including dynamic device allocation across multiple streams, timeline-based track displays to show multilayered events, full-featured item preview from either offline or live schedules, OPUS Content Management integration at all levels of the transmission workflow, and flexible desktop displays for customising user workstations and enhancing user operations.
Simplicity of operations is what really sets Colossus apart. With its G3 technology, broadcasters can structure their operations according to their own needs and workflows. Through the use of modular control components that address virtually every device and process involved in media ingest, monitoring, playout, and management, Colossus gives operators precise access to - and control over - the specific areas of media and data necessary to perform their jobs efficiently. Colossus is extremely powerful and extremely flexible.
The advanced OmniBus Broadcast Control Suite provides tailored device control, using flexible network interfaces to allow more people to use more resources efficiently. The suite features networked machine control; fast, intuitive, and configurable user interfaces; the world's most advanced routing infrastructure; a suite of wide-ranging ingest components; and a G3 driver directly adopted by major device manufacturers using OmniBus SDK.
With unmatched flexibility in providing device access, operation, and management over distributed networks, the OmniBus Broadcast Control Suite builds highly efficient, highly integrated broadcast operations. Encompassing products for router control, machine control, and integration with signal processing equipment, this suite provides a customisable user interface for access by multiple local and remote users, seamlessly integrating with the OmniBus content management and workflow systems.
