New senior appointments for VTR Group
VTR plc, parent company of The VTR Group, has announced the appointment of Neil Lane to the main board as Group Operations Director, with immediate effect.
Wendy Saunders, previously Operations Director of TMR, has been appointed as Lane’s successor and is now Managing Director of TMR.
Lane, formerly Managing Director of The VTR Group’s division, TMR (previously The Machine Room), will have overall responsibility at main board level for operating divisions VTR, blue, TMR and K
Lane, whose appointment to the board of VTR plc is the first for eight years, has worked within the VTR Group for over 17 years. He has held roles at VTR, Clipstream and TMR. He is also the initiator, and will remain responsible for eTITLE, The VTR Group’s project to create an automated subtitling workflow system for broadcasters, subtitling companies and corporate users.
“I believe that the VTR plc board is greatly strengthened by Neil’s detailed operational knowledge of all parts of the Group,” said Paul Tracey. “Neil has a strong grasp of the way in which our industry is developing and we expect him to make a significant contribution to the group’s strategic direction. His understanding of business models and his ability as a communicator will also greatly assist him in his new role.”
Wendy Saunders has taken on responsibility for the strategic direction and growth of the division, and the development of TMR’s staff in her new role as MD. Wendy joined TMR as Operations Manager in June 2002. Her time at TMR included setting up and running the production department for feature film and delivery, before being promoted to Operations Director in 2003.
