DUBLIN SETS THE STAGE FOR DVB WORLD 2001
THE DVB conference for 2001 will take place in Dublin from March 7 to 9.
DVB World 2001 will highlight the major techniques and tools for the introduction of digital television broadcasting over terrestrial, cable and satellite systems that have been developed and approved by the DVB Project.
Leading experts that developed the state of the art DVB technology, spearheaded its introduction and are in charge of its implementation will present the status of the introduction of DVB systems in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas together with operational experiences.
The conference is a 'must' for all managers, researchers and practitioners in the electronic media as DVB technology is the most widely accepted standard for digital television, and is currently slated for over 500 million homes worldwide.
The three day event will cover topics such as 'DVB - Worldwide Technology For Digital Broadcasting', 'What Is The Main Driving Force In The Introduction Of DVB', MHP - Interactivity & Multimedia', 'Codex DVB: Rights and Content Management', and 'The Future Of Digital Broadcasting And Delivery'.
The conference programme includes official lunches and dinners at Trinity College, Dublin.
The conference is being organised by the International Academy of Broadcasting on behalf of the DVB Project. Sponsors and exhibitors include Sun Microsystems, RTE, Philips Electronics Ireland Ltd., Macrovision Ltd., Com21 Inc., Mason Communications Ltd, Changing Worlds Ltd. and the Irish Tourist Board.
There is an optional visit to MediaLabs Europe (MIT) on Friday afternoon following the closing of the Conference.
