International deals rack up for 'Jamie’s School Dinners'

Fremantle International Distribution (FID), the distribution arm of global production outfit FremantleMedia, has reported yet more international sales for hit show 'Jamie’s School Dinners'.
Following MIPTV 2005 and the hugely successful debut for the series on Channel 4 in March, FID has added to its 11 existing pre-sales of Jamie’s School Dinners.
New broadcasters to have snapped up the series include HBO in Hungary, SABC in South Africa, VTM in Belgium, YLE in Finland, RTL4 in the Netherlands, Onmedia in Korea, NHK (Mico) in Japan, and a pan-regional deal with Discovery Asia.
Meanwhile in Australia, where the show debuted on Network TEN on April 13, the first episode almost doubled the audience share of the preceding programme on the network.
David Ellender, Managing Director of Fremantle International Distribution (FID), said: “The international success of Jamie’s School Dinners is quite remarkable. We knew the show was going to be popular with buyers and viewers worldwide, but the reality exceeds our expectations. The show also premiered on TV Norge in Norway recently, and we are delighted to announce that it is doing fantastically well there too.”
