BRICK HOUSE LAUNCH NEW VIDEO SWITCHER

News Image
BRICK House Video have launched the VTB-1D (pictured), a portable 10-bit video switcher designed for fast reliable SDI editing.
In addition to four inputs and programme/preview outputs, the VTB-1D is fitted with RS-232/422 and GPI for auto-transitions with pre-read edit pairs such as the DNW-A225.
Programme outputs are SDI and composite, with two switched auxiliary SDI outputs. Audio-pass enables the user to lock the AES to the programme bus or to input one. Controls include auto/manual wipe (with border), auto/manual dissolve and auto fade to black, with auto ranges of zero to five seconds. The internal generator offers four test signals, including EBU bars.
The VTB-1D works with external sync or in stand-alone mode, and composite outputs are provided for genlock. It runs from a 12V d.c. (actual 9 - 17V) supply.
Also new is V-Log, the VITC/LTC reader and VHS controller. As logging rushes after the shoot can risk damaging valuable tapes, users can log from a VHS dub, but it's slow, since domestic VHS machines have no RS-422 transport control.
With V-Log, users can control any VHS from your PC while logging. V-Log reads timecode from the VHS and transmits the information to the PC. All transport functions are available, including search-to-cue, and with Phoenix Log software, you can create EDLs and export them to all major non-linear platforms.
