Leitch equipment chosen by QVC

Leitch Technology Corporation have announced a major sale of their Genesis infrastructure platform and Leitch’s CCS Pilot software application for advanced configuration, control and monitoring to QVC.
The Genesis platform and CCS Pilot have been installed in QVC’s new digital control room.
Leitch’s CCS Pilot, which provides all of the tools needed to configure, control, monitor and secure access to all CCS-enabled and many third-party devices on a network, will remotely control and monitor the Genesis equipment over a LAN. The equipment has been installed in the new QVC control room ‘B,’ which will work in conjunction with the main control room ‘A,’ so that in the event of an emergency the station can stay on-air or quickly resume broadcasting. In the future, it can act as the main control room, during the refurbishment of control room ‘A.’
Leitch clock and control units also formed part of the installation.
An existing Leitch VR300 video server system, which QVC uses for overnight transmission playout and for daytime replays into the studios, was also expanded during the installation and now provides 14 channels and additional storage. Fibre optic cable was used to connect the new servers to an existing raid array in a different building.
