RUSHES SOHO SHORTS FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES

RUSHES have made a call for entries for the third Rushes Soho Shorts Festival to be held between July 28 to August 3, 2001.
With the closing date for entries set for May 7, 2001, arrangements are well underway for this groundbreaking event which has proved such a huge success over the last two years.
The organisers at Rushes Postproduction were thrilled with the quality of over 750 entries in last year's festival, celebrating the wealth of talent in short films including newcomers, established short film makers, animation, pop promos and titles and idents. The support received from filmmakers, industry enthusiasts and, in particular, the sponsors and venues has helped establish this festival as a permanent fixture on the short film circuit.
The festival will follow the same format as last year with free screenings being held in cafes, bars and cinemas all over Soho, culminating in an awards night where the winners will be announced. Last year's venues included the Atlantic Bar, Soho House, Curzon Soho Cinema, De Lane Lea, Mr Young's and Costa Coffee to name just a few.
The five categories in this year's festival are: The Artsworld Short Film Award; The Discreet Newcomer Award; The Titles and Idents Award; The Wam!Net Animated Short Award and the ITK Music Video Award
Rushes are currently accepting submissions for entries in the above categories. The film should be no longer than 12 minutes in duration and produced in the 12 months up to 7th May 2001.
