FINAL CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR RUSHES SOHO SHORTS FESTIVAL

A FINAL call is being made for entries for the third Rushes Soho Shorts Festival to be held between July 28 and August 3 2001, and the closing date for applications is May 7 2001.
Arrangements are well underway for this groundbreaking event which has proved such a huge success over the last two years.
The organisers at Rushes Post Production were thrilled with the quality of over 750 entries in last year's festival, celebrating the wealth of talent in short films including newcomers, established short film makers, animation, pop promos and title sequences and idents. The support received from filmmakers, industry enthusiasts and, in particular, the sponsors and venues, has helped establish this festival as a permanent fixture on the short film circuit.
The festival will follow the same format as last year with free screenings being held in cafes, bars and cinemas all over Soho, culminating in a celebrity packed awards night at Sound in Leicester Square, hosted by Terry Christian and sponsored by Sony Pro Media, where the winners will be announced. This year's venues include: the Atlantic Bar, Soho House, Curzon Soho Cinema, Alphabet Bar, Metro Cinema, Yo! Below, De Lane Lea, and Costa Coffee to name just a few.
A new addition this year, is the Delegates Centre at the Curzon Soho Cinema, where you will be able to find out the latest festival information and pick up a free delegates pack. The Curzon will also be the venue for the Short Film Making Seminar, which last year proved to be such a success that the venue could have been filled three times over!
This year the prestigious list of judges include: Nik Powell (Scala Films), Trevor Beattie (TBWA London), Robert Campbell (RKCR/Y&R), Matt Mueller and Alan Morrison (Total Film), Mark Hooper (i–D Magazine), Dave Knight (Promo) and Paul Rothwell (Gorgeous Enterprises) amongst other industry luminaries.
The five categories in this year's festival are: The Artsworld Short Film Award; The Discreet Newcomer Award; The Title Sequences and Idents Award; The WAM!NET Animated Short Award and The ITK Music Video Award
There is no fee for entering your film into one of the above categories. The film should be no longer than 12 minutes in duration and produced in the 12 months up to May 7 2001. You can request an application form from the festival by calling the festival hotline number on tel: 0207 851 6207. (CD)
