Screen Subtitling Systems supply Polistream to Showtime Arabia

Screen Subtitling Systems have this month supplied 23 units of their new G3500 dedicated subtitle character generators to Showtime Arabia.
The systems will support the 21 channels of burnt-in Arabic subtitles due to launch in the 1st quarter of 2005.
Charles Waterworth, Chief Engineer, at Showtime Arabia, said: "We chose Screen Subtitles' Polistream system because we believe that they are technically way ahead of their competitors' systems. The Polistream's flexibility allows us to easily expand the system as our channel count grows and will allow us to switch to DVB subtitles in the future with very little change in hardware. The addition of logo insertion on the G3500 unit gives us the added financial benefit of not having to purchase a separate logo insertion system; over 21 channels that amounts to a significant saving. The single subtitle and logo solution with the G3500 significantly simplifies the transmission chains reducing integration costs and improving reliability." He added: "Having used the Polistream systems in the past I'm extremely confident in its performance and reliability and the simple menu structure makes it very easy to configure and maintain."
The Polistream G3500 is from the Polistream G-series subtitle & graphics transmission products. The G3500 combines character generation with the added ability to create graphics, and a static logo.
"The ability to add a range of graphics, from a single static logo to a multilayer screen showing tickers, crawls, clocks and fully animated logos, to the normal subtitles - and all under one simple automation interface - has proved to be immensely popular," said Gary Glover Sales & Marketing Director at Screen Subtitling Systems.
