Omneon receives 2004 Frost & Sullivan Award

Omneon Video Networks has received the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Penetration, included as part of Frost & Sullivan's recently released analysis, 'World Video Server Market'.
This award recognises strategic excellence in product innovation, marketing, and sales strategies resulting in the largest gain in market share over the past two to three years. Criteria for the award include product innovation, competitive pricing strategies, a strong sales force strategy, and the ability to establish brand awareness and form strategic alliances. The report found that Omneon has demonstrated the highest growth of all vendors, and is now the third-largest provider of broadcast media servers.
"Omneon is one of the most exciting newcomers to the broadcast video server space, and the company's Omneon Spectrum media server system is an extremely robust and competitively priced product backed by a highly motivated team that has taken the market by storm," said Mukul Krishna, Industry Analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "A few years back, Omneon had less than five percent of the market share. Now the company has captured more than a tenth of the market and continues to grow, often replacing products from older, more established manufacturers. This accomplishment is particularly commendable in light of the slow growth experienced by the market in recent years, with spending by broadcasters being very limited."
An exceptionally cost-effective and flexible media server designed for the professional television industry, the Omneon Spectrum media server provides a reliable and scalable infrastructure for broadcast playout and storage applications. Omneon's server system is built on an open architecture that allows it to support a broad variety of third-party applications for control and transmission, media management, archiving, and collaborative production. As a result, stored media can be shared among many users and applications.
The scalable, distributed architecture of the modular Omneon Spectrum server system also delivers maximum flexibility in scaling system components and capacity in small or large increments as desired. The system is available in a broad range of configurations to meet the specific needs of each installation.
