QUARTZ SHOWCASE LARGE SDI AND AES ROUTERS

QUARTZ' entry into the large router market was showcased at NAB this year.
Now offering one of the largest and most comprehensive ranges in the industry, Quartz routers cover 8x 2 to 1024x1024 in all major formats. New additions include the Q128-DA, Digital audio router, which can be configured to 256x256 and beyond, and the Q256-SV Serial Digital Video router. This SD router offers compact routing with 128x128 into 8U and 256x256 into 16U, with flexible input and output expansion. The Quartz extensive range of routers, combined with intuitive control system and panels, offers exceptional scalability.
New options for the innovative Quartz QMC Master Control Switcher were also introduced at NAB. One of the more obvious options is the new modular range of QMC control panels. The QMC's 'soft' control panels can be fully customized to suit any master control play-out system and broadcast house style. Further enhancements have been made for use in multi-channels with the implementation of user configurable panel configurations.
Quartz enters the HD routing market with two low cost HD solutions. The new routers have been designed to support customer needs in the migration from SD to HD or to meet HD only requirements. The Quartz Q1602-HD and Q0802-HD meet a wide number of HD applications and can be cascaded building systems up to 128x2 and larger.
The Q16 and Q32, 16 x16 in 1U and 32x32 in 2U, respectively, further enhanced the smaller SDI router range from Quartz this year. The new designs provide common frames to analogue equivalents enabling simpler upgrades from analogue to digital by fitting new plug-in modules. (GB)
