HTV WALES SECURE 19 BAFTA NOMINATIONS

HTV Wales programmes have won 19 nominations for this year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards to be announced in the annual Awards Ceremony to be held on June 24.
Five nominations went to the feature film ‘The Testimony of Taliesin Jones’ and five to the detective thriller ‘A Mind To Kill’, starring Philip Madoc as Detective Chief Inspector Noel Bain.
‘The Testimony of Taliesin Jones’ stars John-Paul Macleod in the title role along with a host of well-known stars including Jonathan Pryce, Geraldine James, Griff Rhys Jones and the late Ian Bannen.
The categories it’s been nominated for include ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Drama’.
The ‘A Mind to Kill’ episode short-listed is ‘The Inner Life of Strangers’ shown on HTV last year. The nominations include ‘Best Actor’ for Philip Madoc.
HTV’s popular ‘Fishlock’s Wild Tracks’ received two nominations including ‘Best On-screen Presenter’ for the intrepid Trevor Fishlock.
Other HTV programmes nominated include the Barry Welsh off-shoot ‘Hugh Pugh presents… The Fishguard Film Festival’ in The Best Light Entertainment category.
‘Nuts and Bolts’ has been nominated for ‘Best Drama Series’, ‘Welsh in New York’ for Best Magazine and Feature Programme, ‘A Hell of a Time’ for ‘Best Education Programme’ and in the Short Film category, ‘Black Dog’.
Two HTV programmes made for S4C have also been nominated, the drama series ‘Pen Tennyn’ and the Christmas show ‘Anrheg Elin’. (CD)
