Pro-Bel M6 installation continues French success

Pro-Bel, the premier manufacturer and supplier of routing, signal processing, master control and automation technologies, has announced the completion of a Sirius router installation for Metropole Television M6 following an order placed earlier this year.
Metropole Television M6 is based in Neuilly sur Seine, France, and produces a wide range of thematic channels for distribution across the country.
Two of its cable-distributed channels - Fun TV and M6 Music - required the core equipment upgrade to add functionality, replacing technology that was considered out-of-date. M6 purchased a Sirius 64 x 64 SDI router to sit at the heart of the operation for the two channels as well as a Sirius 16 x 16 for back-up purposes.
The main Sirius acts as the pre-selector for the other core pieces of equipment, two Pro-Bel TX500 master control units. The digital TX500 Series uses a modular architecture to support any size of application and addresses changing needs without making current components obsolete.
The equipment was selected not only for its quality/price ratio but also because SGT, who provided the automation, knew that its technology would work effortlessly with the Pro-Bel kit. Sirius' onboard signal conversion capabilities were also a key aspect of the sale. Fred Loup, Pro-Bel's Country Manager for France, explained that Pro-Bel also managed to achieve the tight deadline of having the technology installed and ready for air just three weeks after the order was placed.
This M6 order is the latest in a line of recent French successes for the company, with TF1 now using a wide range of Pro-Bel routing technology, including Eclipse, Sirius and Freeways and ARTE using Sirius and Eclipse routers as well as Aurora and Procion 2 technology.
Patrick Morel, Pro-Bel's Sales Director, added: "Pro-Bel has always given prominence to the French market and our ongoing success there is due to our continued attention to and understanding of the requirements of this market."
