Disguise Launches X2 And X3
Live production technology company Disguise has launched two new products designed to make its Designer software more accessible to small and mid-sized productions.
The new X2 and X3 systems are aimed at productions including DJ sets, theatre tours, festivals and corporate brand events, allowing users to access Disguise’s production workflow without the infrastructure typically associated with larger-scale shows.
Disguise has provided technology for major live events and experiences for more than 20 years, with projects including performances by Bad Bunny, Coachella, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Top of the Rock at New York’s Rockefeller Center.
The X2 and X3 launches follow the introduction of X1 last year. Since its launch, X1 has been used across live events, immersive experiences and corporate activations, including Charlie Puth’s European tour, the 2025 Tennocon conference and the Dunham Massey Christmas light trail installation.
X2 and X3 have been available to selected customers since earlier this year and are already being used on productions involving artists including David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Central Cee.
Raed Al Tikriti, chief product and technology officer at Disguise, said the new systems were intended to make the company’s technology more accessible to a wider range of productions.
The X2 provides two 4K outputs, while the X3 offers three, and both can run on users’ own hardware, including Windows laptops.
According to Disguise, the approach is designed to give smaller productions greater flexibility and portability while reducing the need for expensive logistics or reprogramming when moving between different production solutions.
The X Series also allows production teams to scale projects within the same Designer workflow. Users can move between X1, X2 and X3 for smaller or mid-sized productions before switching to Disguise media servers for larger shows requiring additional outputs or clustering.
Disguise says this approach can reduce the need to rebuild or reprogramme show files as productions move between different venues and technical requirements, while providing a lower-cost entry point for teams working with tighter budgets.
