WSDG To Explore Acoustics, Aesthetics And Atmosphere

WSDG will return to LEat con 2026 from 6-8 October at Hamburg Messe, where Project Engineer Miriam Reinhardt will present a specialist seminar examining the relationship between acoustics, technology and architectural design.

Reinhardt's German-language presentation, ‘Akustik, Ästhetik, Atmosphäre’ (Acoustics, Aesthetics, Atmosphere), will take place on Wednesday, 7 October from 17:00-17:30 on the Install Stage in Hall A4.

The session will explore the challenges involved in integrating technical planning with the requirements of modern cultural and production facilities. Using the pavilion of the Fondation Beyeler in Basel as a case study, Reinhardt will examine how room acoustics and electroacoustics can be adapted to support both unamplified performances and amplified concerts.

The presentation will also look at the role of collaboration between acoustic consultants and architectural teams, alongside the development of bespoke acoustic solutions and the integration of technology within an overall architectural concept.

Reinhardt will draw on experience across theatre, live production, broadcast and AV systems design. Before joining WSDG Basel as Project Engineer in March 2025, she spent six years leading the Sound Department at Munich’s Theaterakademie August Everding. She subsequently worked as a Project Engineer at Bayerischer Rundfunk before becoming a sound engineer at Theater Basel.

"I'm looking forward to sharing some of that perspective at leat con and discussing how these different considerations can come together within modern cultural and production environments."

Reinhardt will attend LEat con on 7 and 8 October alongside WSDG Partner, Senior Consultant – Systems, Enno Finder. The pair will be available throughout the event to meet industry colleagues and discuss WSDG's latest projects from around the world.
