Green Hippo Ships Estuary MC1 And MC2 Media Controllers

Green Hippo has begun shipping its Estuary MC1 and MC2 media controllers, unifying screen management and live switching on a lighting desk via tvONE's CALICO video engine.

In show scenarios with only minutes to spare and a sponsor loop due immediately, the lighting operator may be the only person available—now that’s enough. The Estuary Series brings LED wall and projection control to the same DMX console running the production. The range currently includes the 1RU MC1 and 2RU MC2, with an MC4 model on the way.

Powered by tvONE's CALICO Video Processing Architecture, Estuary delivers one-frame end-to-end latency, 10-bit/HDR processing and up to 256 layers across four canvases, each supporting resolutions up to 64,000 x 64,000 pixels. At load-in and during the show, control options include DMX/sACN, HippoNet, Companion and a REST API—allowing a grandMA3 programmer to place screen control in the same cue stack as lighting, automation, pyro and other show-control elements without a separate media-control surface.

"I have sat in a lot of production meetings where video was the department that needed its own specialist, truck and timeline," said Bob Bonniol, Chief Innovation Officer at ACT Entertainment. "Estuary is our answer to that. Stadium-grade processing, lighting-console control and a price that means the show doesn't have to be a stadium show to get it. MC1 and MC2 are shipping now because people kept asking 'when', not 'whether' the solution would arrive."

The compact 1RU Estuary MC1 packs the full Estuary engine for studios, corporate venues and simulation spaces where professional media control is required without a large footprint. It offers four 4K outputs, smooth multi-layer playback, HDR workflows and rapid cueing, integrating cleanly with lighting, automation and other show-control systems—ideal where space and efficiency are priorities.

For more demanding workflows, the 2RU Estuary MC2 delivers touring-grade performance. Aimed at concerts, corporate keynotes and immersive environments, it features four 4K inputs (2x HDMI and 2x 12G-SDI) and eight 4K outputs (6x HDMI and 2x 12G-SDI), plus modular expansion to add high-bandwidth HDMI and SDI as specified. With up to 256 layers, HDR processing, seamless transitions and one-frame latency, MC2 is engineered for complex, multi-layer visuals across LED walls, projection and other large-format displays.
