Hitomi Highlights Spectra And MatchBox Panorama At IBC 2026

Hitomi has returned from Amsterdam after a successful IBC, with four busy days packed with demos, meetings and networking.

On stand 10.A40, the company showcased two recent developments. Spectra received its first public showing, extending Hitomi's objective measurement approach into HDR colour verification, while MatchBox Panorama made its IBC debut following its launch at NAB and its UK unveiling at MPTS earlier this year.

Alongside conversations focused on colour, timing and latency, there was strong collaboration with partners across the show and plenty happening away from the stand, making for a full schedule in Amsterdam.

IBC provided the first in-person demonstrations of Spectra and sparked valuable discussions about the HDR colour verification challenges production teams are encountering.

By measuring colour from the picture itself rather than relying on VPID or visual judgement, Spectra offers an objective way to confirm that intended colour processing is maintained throughout the broadcast chain.

Production teams highlighted its practical benefits, including exposing incorrect LUTs, unintended conversions and wrongly selected SDR or HDR signal paths before they reach the viewer.

IBC is as much about connections as it is about technology. The team took advantage of being in Amsterdam, from the pre-show run and industry events with SVG Europe to dinners, drinks and catch-ups away from the show floor.

Days before the exhibition, MatchBox Glass was recognised with an Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy® Award from the Television Academy.

Celebrations continued at the show when Spectra won a TVBEurope Best of Show Award at IBC2026, adding to what has already been a standout year.

Amsterdam proved a fitting place to celebrate with customers, partners and industry colleagues who have followed Hitomi's progress over time.
