Mediacom Uses Riedel Easy5G

Riedel Communications has announced that Mediacom purchased and deployed Easy5G, its private 5G solution, to support live coverage of La Vuelta in Monaco.

Working independently, Mediacom set up and operated the system to provide wireless connectivity for two HD cameras filming the race’s departure ceremony at Monaco’s Place du Palais Princier.

Mediacom chose Easy5G for its ability to establish dedicated, broadcast‑grade wireless connectivity within minutes, avoiding the congestion risks of public 5G, the instability of Wi‑Fi, and the time and complexity involved in cabling a temporary production set‑up. For a high‑profile, single‑take moment such as La Vuelta’s Monaco send‑off, that reliability was crucial.

Ahead of the start, the crew built Easy5G's private network around Place du Palais Princier, creating a dedicated uplink for the two HD cameras covering the ceremony. In contrast to public 5G or Wi‑Fi, which can struggle in dense, high‑visibility environments, Easy5G’s dedicated frequencies delivered consistent, broadcast‑grade video contribution throughout the event — with no cables and no drop in quality.
