Cobalt Digital To Unveil New And Enhanced Solutions
Cobalt Digital, a leading designer and manufacturer of signal processing technology and a founding partner of openGear®, will bring an expanded portfolio to IBC2026 (Stand 8.F90), with demonstrations focused on simplifying signal processing, monitoring and IP integration as broadcasters and ProAV operators move to hybrid SDI/IP and software‑defined workflows.
Visitors will see new connectivity options, extended IPMX functionality and platform‑wide enhancements intended to make complex infrastructures faster to deploy, easier to manage and more efficient to operate.
New fibre I/O for Dante openGear cards
For the first time at IBC, Cobalt will show its 9935-AUD4-DANTE openGear advanced audio processor cards with optional fibre inputs/outputs for Dante Audio Interface. Direct fibre connectivity simplifies installation, supports longer‑distance runs and removes the need for external media converters in fibre‑based networks.
Expanded IPMX with JPEG XS TDC
Cobalt is adding support for JPEG XS Temporal Differential Coding (JXS TDC) across its IPMX‑certified range, enabling seamless discovery, setup and transport of visually lossless, ultra‑low latency JPEG XS streams. The update strengthens plug‑and‑play IPMX deployments and mixed‑vendor interoperability. JPEG XS support is available on all Cobalt ST 2110/IPMX‑capable products including the SAPPHIRE and INDIGO lines, the UltraBlue MV multiviewer and the blueCORE processors.
blueCORE multi‑function processing in 1RU
Cobalt’s award‑winning blueCORE processing platform, introduced at the 2026 NAB Show, delivers versatile audio and video processing in a compact, self‑contained form factor. With a sub‑80W power draw for the ST 2110 variant, blueCORE suits trucks, OB vans and other space‑constrained live environments, and can be deployed quickly with or without a computer. Functions include up/down/cross conversion, colour correction, multiple HDR processes, audio routing and mixing, per‑channel frame sync, frame‑rate conversion, audio embedding/de‑embedding, SCTE‑104 insertion and logo insertion. Support for SDI I/O (copper and fibre), four channels of 3G—or one channel up to 12G—and ST 2110/IPMX inputs and outputs positions blueCORE for facilities progressing towards IP.
UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewer for IP and hybrid
The UltraBlue MV-SW software‑based multiviewer now adds IPMX support for transitions to ST 2110 or IPMX. It is offered as a turnkey system with four HDMI heads or as software for customer‑supplied dedicated hardware. UltraBlue can receive compressed and baseband audio/video over IP via multiple protocols and formats, with highly flexible audio routing, and also supports SDI inputs and outputs using suitable capture cards.
ARIA audio line
Built for today’s complex productions, the ARIA family provides a pathway to IP operations and, according to Cobalt, includes the only fully IPMX‑compliant audio monitor on the market. The compact rack‑mount design features premium sound monitoring with up to 16 SDI or 64 MADI channels, an efficient Class‑D amplifier with DSP and optimised speakers. An intuitive, customisable touch display offers eight individual volume controls for mixing and a PIP view of incoming video; a web interface is also available. The 9935-AUD4-DANTE card will be highlighted as a quad‑channel solution (up to 12G) for DANTE/AES/MADI embedding and de‑embedding with frame sync, featuring dual gigabit Ethernet ports, a 64×64 configuration and a full audio router/mixer.
Compression solutions
Cobalt will showcase the PACIFIC compression line, including the upgradeable, software‑defined PACIFIC ULL-DEC broadcast decoder, now available with an ST 2110/IPMX output option. Decoded content can be delivered simultaneously over SDI and ST 2110/IPMX, and a built‑in frame sync emits a PTP‑locked signal for ST 2110. The PACIFIC range also adds support for hybrid satellite‑internet operations in line with VSR TR‑06‑4 Part 7. A factory‑installed DVB‑S/S2 demodulator enables decoding and pass‑through of satellite signals on ASI and over IP, using Ku/Ka bands for bulk distribution while the internet recovers lost packets.
Cobalt’s IBC2026 line‑up will also feature new 9925-FSx Frame Sync and 9981-LUTx Color Processor openGear cards, SAPPHIRE ST 2110 Mini Converters and INDIGO IP Gateways. Attendees can visit Stand 8.F90 to explore the latest innovations and learn how the portfolio aims to streamline deployment and operation of broadcast infrastructure.
