swXtch.io To Debut AI-Based Broadcast Engineer abbe
swXtch.io is set to unveil abbe, an AI-based broadcast engineer designed to simplify the infrastructure and networking required to deploy live media workflows, at IBC2026.
The company says abbe is designed to allow operators to describe a desired workflow conversationally, rather than manually configuring networks, cloud infrastructure, compute resources and AI software. The system then deploys the infrastructure, networking and software required to run the workflow, while seeking to meet performance requirements at the lowest practical cost.
Abbe operates as a cloud-agnostic orchestration layer, allowing live media and AI workloads to be deployed across cloud providers including Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Workloads can be positioned according to requirements such as cost and latency, without operators having to create separate solutions for each cloud environment.
The initial capabilities being demonstrated at IBC focus on two areas: live media transport and the deployment of AI within production workflows.
For live media networking, abbe provides SRT management and control for ingesting, monitoring and distributing streams globally. The platform is designed to automate decisions about where and how live media is transported, with the aim of maintaining reliable feeds while reducing manual intervention as network conditions change.
The AI capabilities will include a live audio-processing workflow using NVIDIA models and technologies from selected partners. Operators will be able to describe the desired outcome, with abbe deploying the cloud infrastructure, networking, security and software needed to support the application.
swXtch.io says the longer-term ambition for abbe extends beyond the initial IBC demonstration. The platform is intended to treat AI models as interchangeable components within live workflows, allowing operators to test and compare models, chain them together and switch between models as requirements or technology evolve.
NVIDIA models are providing the foundation for abbe's initial real-time AI capabilities, with swXtch.io planning to expand support for additional NVIDIA AI models and capabilities.
Abbe will make its world premiere at IBC2026, where it will be demonstrated live at the Microsoft booth, 14.A70.
A presentation featuring abbe will also take place at the Oracle booth, 5.A21. NVIDIA technologies supporting the platform's AI workflows will feature in swXtch.io's IBC activities at Booth 1.BS5.
swXtch.io will also hold meetings throughout IBC at Meeting Room 5.MR13.
