CGI To Unveil AI-Assisted Newsroom And Radio Workflows At IBC2026
CGI will present OpenMedia Evolve and CGI dira at IBC2026, showing how broadcasters can streamline production across television, digital and radio, enhance collaboration and run more connected, efficient operations.
Attendees will see the latest advances in story-centric newsroom workflows and modern radio production, alongside CGI's consulting and technology services that help broadcasters modernise while maintaining business continuity.
CGI will demonstrate new capabilities in OpenMedia Evolve, its story-centric newsroom platform that serves as a single source of truth for organisations managing content across broadcast, digital and social channels.
By uniting planning, content creation and publishing within one environment, OpenMedia Evolve lets journalists manage the complete lifecycle of a story from a single platform rather than juggling multiple disconnected systems.
Updates emphasise collaborative workflows, task management and multi-platform publishing, enabling teams to create once and publish to multiple destinations. The platform also adds AI-assisted features for tagging, summarisation, translation and workflow automation, while preserving editorial oversight and control.
Developed closely with broadcasters, OpenMedia Evolve is being introduced in phases as customers adopt it alongside existing OpenMedia deployments.
"Newsrooms are producing more content than ever across multiple platforms, making connected workflows more important than ever. OpenMedia Evolve is designed around the story, giving editorial teams a single environment for planning, creating and publishing content. We are looking forward to demonstrating the latest developments at IBC," said Alan Dickie, Director of Consulting Services at CGI.
CGI will also showcase CGI dira, built to simplify everyday radio production by reducing repetitive tasks, supporting established workflows and freeing editorial and production teams to focus on content.
On the stand, highlights include cloud playout, smarter automation and AI-assisted workflows that streamline daily operations so journalists and production teams can work more efficiently while retaining full editorial control.
Visitors will see how CGI dira is deepening integration with planning systems to support end-to-end radio production, working alongside OpenMedia's newsroom tools. Also featured are new voice and text-to-speech capabilities for creating, adapting and repurposing audio across platforms.
"Radio production teams need technology that supports the way they already work rather than adding unnecessary complexity. The latest developments in CGI dira focus on smarter automation, flexible integration and AI-assisted workflows while keeping people firmly in control," said Michael Thielen, Vice-President, Consulting Services, Media Solutions at CGI.
Beyond its newsroom and radio platforms, CGI will highlight a broader portfolio of AI, IT and business consulting services that support broadcasters on their transformation journeys.
With decades of experience delivering mission-critical systems, CGI works with media organisations on cloud transformation, systems integration, AI strategy, cybersecurity, managed services and change management. By combining consulting expertise with proven technology platforms, CGI helps broadcasters modernise operations, integrate new technologies and deliver transformation programmes that improve performance and strengthen long-term resilience.
