M2A Media And Ateme Join Forces

M2A Media, a specialist in cloud-based live video, has partnered with Ateme, the global video compression and delivery company, to embed Ateme's solutions within the M2A platform.

The collaboration will allow broadcasters, streamers, rights holders and federations to deploy Ateme at significant scale across hundreds of simultaneous live events, all managed through M2A's MediaToAnywhere operational layer.

Aimed at premium live sport, where scale, complexity and reliability converge, the integration addresses scenarios in which major rights owners handle hundreds of parallel feeds spanning different formats, frame rates and delivery specifications, leaving little scope for manual intervention when faults occur.

M2A Media will use Ateme across key workflows, from ABR encoding for streaming services to processing and normalising broadcast transport streams. This includes transport stream normalisation, frame-rate conversion and HDR conversion, helping to turn varied inbound feeds into consistent outputs ready for distribution.

The companies will also tackle ongoing issues around HDR workflows, time-code normalisation and watermarking, where inconsistencies in contribution feeds can create operational challenges during high-value live events.

By marrying Ateme's streaming expertise with M2A's cloud orchestration and 24/7 global operations, these capabilities can be deployed dynamically and at scale. Customers can spin up processing for specific events, run hundreds in parallel when needed, and scale back afterwards — without building dedicated infrastructure for peak demand.

M2A Media will integrate Ateme into its Compute Orchestration environment, enabling customers to provision and manage large Ateme encoding and processing fleets using the same operational approach they already apply to AWS-based services.

The partnership also lays the groundwork for M2A to bring additional Ateme capabilities online over time, giving customers access to new video processing features without increasing the operational complexity of live workflows.

Remi Beaudouin, CSO, Ateme, said: "Live sports workflows are evolving rapidly, and technology needs to evolve with them. Our partnership with M2A Media brings Ateme solutions into a highly flexible cloud environment, giving customers an efficient way to address new requirements as they emerge."

Ciarán Doran, CEO of M2A Media, said: "Premium live sports demand both scale and operational simplicity. By integrating Ateme into the M2A platform, we're giving customers greater technology choice and the ability to run sophisticated video processing across hundreds of concurrent events, without adding operational complexity."

Ateme provides video compression and delivery solutions to content providers, service providers and streaming platforms, focusing on quality of experience, sustainability and monetisation through personalisation and ad insertion.

M2A Media offers an AWS-native SaaS platform that orchestrates cloud broadcast workflows to accelerate deployment, reduce operational risk and simplify global rollout via the AWS Marketplace.
