Zixi Secures First Mauritius Deployment With MTC Jockey Club

Zixi, the live video delivery and workflow orchestration specialist, has announced its first direct deployment in Mauritius with the MTC Jockey Club (MTCJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mauritius Turf Club. The move strengthens Zixi’s presence across the Indian Ocean and supports the club’s ambitions to grow global distribution from the iconic Champ de Mars racecourse in Port Louis.

Founded in 1812, the Mauritius Turf Club is the oldest horse racing club in the Southern Hemisphere and among the oldest worldwide. Based at Champ de Mars, MTCJC stages a race meeting every Saturday during the season, drawing tens of thousands of spectators and producing the nation’s most-watched sports broadcasts.

MTC had already been using hardware encoders with Zixi support for the past decade, providing familiarity with the protocol.

After a successful proof-of-concept, MTCJC chose the Zixi Platform as the backbone for live contribution and distribution, citing centralised monitoring and visibility, improved reliability for live events, streamlined orchestration and management across multiple feeds and protocols, stronger troubleshooting and operational efficiency, scalability for international growth, and the flexibility of a protocol-agnostic approach.
