Fabian Tobias Appointed MD Of ITV Studios Germany

ITV Studios has appointed Fabian Tobias as Managing Director of ITV Studios Germany, with the executive set to take up the role in spring 2027.

Tobias will succeed Christiane Ruff, who will retire after more than 12 years leading the German business.

ITV Studios Germany is one of the country's largest production companies, with a portfolio that includes major entertainment formats such as Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! (I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, RTL), which has been on air for more than two decades.

Its other productions include Love Island VIP (RTLZWEI), Das perfekte Dinner (Come Dine With Me, VOX), The Voice of Germany, The Voice Kids (ProSieben/Sat.1), Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert (VOX), Werwölfe – Das Spiel von List und Täuschung (The Werewolves, ARD), Quizduell Olymp (Quiz Duel Champions, Das Erste) and Gefragt – Gejagt (The Chase, Das Erste).

Reporting to Lisa Perrin, Managing Director, International Production in London, Tobias will be responsible for the company's creative strategy, production operations, development of new intellectual property for international rollout and acquisition of third-party formats.

He will also lead ITV Studios Germany's senior management team and work with executives across the wider ITV Studios Group.

Tobias joins ITV Studios from EndemolShine Germany, part of Banijay, where he has served as Managing Director Germany, with responsibility for Switzerland, since 2020. He added the role of co-Managing Director of Poland in 2023.

During his time with EndemolShine Germany, Tobias launched a number of international entertainment formats in Germany and Poland, including The Masked Singer in Germany and Switzerland, Beauty and the Geek in Germany, The 50 in Germany and Poland, and Lego Masters in Germany.

He has also overseen the development of original formats including Three are the Champions (RTL), Chefs to Go (VOX), Fridge Wars (Sat1) and Staying Alive (ProSieben), as well as the reinvention of established formats including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Celebrity Big Brother and Dragons Den.

Tobias has held senior management and executive producer positions at Germany-based Banijay companies since 2014. He previously worked at ITV Studios Germany as a Senior Producer between 2013 and 2014, producing Ich bin ein Star – holt mich hier raus! (I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here) and Hell's Kitchen.
