4Wall Entertainment Assembles North America's Largest Disguise EX 3+ Fleet

4Wall Entertainment has invested heavily in its video division to create North America’s largest deployment of Disguise EX 3+ media servers, widening access to the full Disguise workflow for productions across all budgets.

The move follows consistent client demand for reliable, scalable media server workflows on shows of every size. By standardising on the EX 3+, 4Wall aims to deliver Disguise’s flexibility and performance without forcing smaller productions to compromise.

The EX range also aligns with 4Wall’s deep bench of Disguise specialists. The team already builds custom applications on Disguise APIs and develops its own render nodes for virtual production, pairing familiar hardware with in-house expertise to push capability further.

Playback performance sat at the heart of the decision.

Powered by an NVIDIA Ada Lovelace GPU in a compact 2RU chassis, the EX 3+ offers dependable multi-output sync, pixel-accurate resolution and robust show control for fast integration.

The fleet is already supporting flagship projects. The core server package on Saturday Night Live runs on EX 3+, as does 4Wall’s Car Process facility at Great Point Studios. That installation leverages the Colour Management licence unlock, enabling ACES and OCIO modes on the EX line — a capability deemed essential for plate playback on virtual production sets.

The EX 3+ is also changing how 4Wall bridges pre‑production and show day. Because early previs and visualisation rarely require a top-spec machine, teams can provision the right tools at the right cost from pre‑vis through rehearsal, opening up high‑end workflows to projects that were previously priced out.
