Kellogg's To Match Big Scottish Breakfast Donations

Cereal maker Kellogg's will match public donations pound for pound, up to £50,000, as the Big Scottish Breakfast returns this September to raise funds for school breakfast clubs across Scotland.

The STV Children’s Appeal's annual fundraiser invites people across Scotland to host morning get-togethers in schools, workplaces and nurseries. STV weather presenter Sean Batty helped launch the 2026 campaign by visiting Pied Piper Nursery in Glasgow.

Supporting the initiative for a fourth year, Kellogg's will double every £1 raised, with all proceeds directed to school breakfast clubs to help tackle child hunger.

Pied Piper Nursery, long-time supporters of the event, welcomed Batty for a lively morning of fundraising activities.

Fresh data underline the need: Kellogg's research found a 73% increase in demand for breakfast clubs over the past five years, and 78% of teachers believe these clubs will become more important. The Trussell Trust reports that one in four children are experiencing food insecurity, with more than 200,000 in Scotland living in households without reliable access to food.

For nearly 30 years, Kellogg's has supported school breakfast clubs up and down the country and teachers tell us that being hungry can have a massive effect on pupils, from their performance and behaviour, and even overall attendance. Supporting school breakfast clubs is vital to ensure children affected by poverty can access a filling meal and head into the classroom ready to learn."

Sean Batty said: "That was the best morning I've had in a long time, despite one of my new pals threatening to put a watermelon on my head! The Big Scottish Breakfast is the perfect opportunity to support children that need it most across Scotland and I encourage everyone to get involved. Big or small, these events are lots of fun, they bring people together and the money raised makes a real difference."
