Big Blue Marble brings C2PA Content Credentials to Cloud Video Kit

News Image
Big Blue Marble has been added to the Conformance List of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), confirming that its video processing services meet the requirements of the open technical standard for verifying the origin and history of digital content. This allows BBM to generate valid Content Credentials for its clients' video content through Cloud Video Kit.

C2PA was founded in 2021 by Adobe, Arm, BBC, Intel, Microsoft, and Truepic as a response to the spread of misinformation and AI-generated media. Instead of trying to detect whether a video is fake, the standard takes the opposite route and makes it possible to verify who created a piece of content and how it was changed along the way. This is done through Content Credentials, cryptographically signed metadata attached to a video file that records its origin, the tools used to create it, and every edit or processing step it went through. That way, if a video player supports C2PA, viewers can check these credentials through free web tools directly on screen.

For broadcasters, public institutions, and media outlets, this creates a verifiable record of provenance - a chain of custody for their video content from production to playback. Big Blue Marble will offer C2PA signing as an option for on-demand video (VOD) through Cloud Video Kit, with Content Credentials generated during transcoding as part of the standard processing workflow. The credentials are visible to viewers directly in the player, without leaving the app. BBM can additionally guide clients through CAWG certification, a related standard for authorship claims.

"Anyone can claim a video is authentic. C2PA lets you show it," said Dawid Gorniak, Head of Cloud OTT & Product Manager at Big Blue Marble. "Our clients publish content that people need to be able to trust, and now they can sign it as part of their normal delivery process in Cloud Video Kit. No extra tools or separate workflows, the credentials are simply generated while the video is being prepared for delivery."

Visitors to the IBC Show 2026 will be able to see how Content Credentials appear inside the player and what verifiable video provenance looks like from the viewer’s perspective at the Big Blue Marble booth A63, Hall 5.
