DAZN And Antenna Group Unveil Italian Streaming-First News Service

Sports streamer DAZN has rolled out an original news service on its DAZN Italia platform in collaboration with international media company Antenna Group.

The initiative broadens DAZN's line-up beyond live sport and is billed as Italy's first news programme conceived specifically for a streaming-first platform.

Debuting this week, the daily show will cover Italian and global current affairs alongside sport, entertainment and technology, using explainer formats and longer segments optimised for digital and mobile viewing.

The venture follows the companies' cooperation during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, when Antenna and DAZN jointly carried all 63 matches of the tournament in Greece.

Antenna Group will set up and run the news production unit for DAZN in Italy, under the supervision of senior editors at GEDI Digital.

Antenna said the partnership forms part of a broader strategy to expand its presence in Italy.

Antenna's portfolio spans 37 free-to-air and pay-TV channels and two streaming platforms across Europe, North America and Australia. The group recently acquired GEDI Gruppo Editoriale, owner of titles including La Repubblica.

Owned by Greece's Kyriakou family, Antenna is an investor in Imagine Entertainment and Spanish-language media company TelevisaUnivision, and was an early backer of Facebook, Twitter (X) and Spotify before they went public. The Kyriakou family is also an investor in US media platform Semafor.
