Disguise And Creative Technology Power Eurovision 2026
Disguise has again teamed up with Creative Technology (CT) to provide the visual playback backbone for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, one of the world's most complex and high‑profile live broadcasts.
The 70th edition takes place in Vienna, drawing global audiences for a showcase of music and cutting‑edge production.
Now in their eighth consecutive year supporting Eurovision, Disguise and CT are deploying Disguise’s GX 3 media servers to deliver this year’s high‑performance visuals. The system supports the show's shift to a more LED‑driven stage while streamlining IP‑VFC workflows. The architecture has been engineered to meet Eurovision’s scale, rapid changeovers and exacting live broadcast demands.
Alongside the hardware rollout, Disguise has collaborated with CT to further refine IP‑VFC performance and workflows for large‑scale broadcast environments. Eurovision 2026 will be among the first major live productions to run the latest IP‑VFC firmware, a key milestone for Disguise's ST 2110 pipeline. The update brings notable stability and performance gains for GX 3 servers, enabling resilient, low‑latency video distribution across the show's expansive LED and broadcast infrastructure.
To ensure smooth delivery, Disguise engineers are embedded on site with CT throughout rehearsals and live transmissions, focusing on seamless integration and rapid issue resolution in a high‑pressure environment.
"Eurovision always succeeds in raising the bar creatively and technically," commented Niklas Ljung, Group Technical Director at Creative Technology. "This year, the scale and flexibility of the LED environment is a key part of that ambition. Working with Disguise, we’ve been able to refine our workflows and build a system that supports both the creative vision and the reliability demands of a live broadcast of this magnitude."
With more than 35 broadcasters expected to carry the event and a global audience that regularly tops 160 million, Eurovision remains both a celebration of music and a proving ground for broadcast technology. Key partners this year include Megapixel for video processing and ROE Visual for LED displays.
