Sky Unveils New Trailer And Images For Shaun The Sheep

Sky has released a fresh trailer and new images for the Sky Original Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, ahead of a UK cinema launch on 18 September 2026.

The film finds Shaun and the Flock gearing up for Halloween until a mishap by the Farmer wrecks their prized pumpkin patch. Shaun’s attempt at a madcap scientific fix soon spirals, the Farmer vanishes, and rumours of a fearsome creature stalking the woods around Mossingham spark a spooky, family-friendly caper.

The trailer offers a first look at Mossingham’s social media star, voiced by Dani Dyer in her debut animation role, who snaps a selfie with the unsuspecting Beast. Fans also get glimpses of the Flock fortifying their pumpkin patch against snails, Timmy in full sailor attire, the Farmer squeezed into a too-tight hoedown costume, and the Vet helming a high-speed boat chase.

Aardman has partnered with Sky as the exclusive UK distributor, with a nationwide theatrical release planned. The Beast of Mossy Bottom is billed as the studio’s third stop-motion feature, following Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, which picked up two BAFTAs and an Oscar nomination, bringing Aardman’s career totals to 17 BAFTAs and four Academy Awards.

Marking a milestone for the beloved character, 2025 celebrated 30 years since Shaun’s first appearance in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave, with the series now broadcast in 170 territories worldwide. The new feature is written by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow, directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, and produced by Richard Beek. Studio executive producers are Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley and Sarah Cox.

Internationally, STUDIOCANAL will release the film in France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Benelux and Poland, and is overseeing worldwide sales outside the UK. The project marks the company’s fourth collaboration with Aardman after Shaun the Sheep Movie, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, and Early Man.
