Chyron selected by world-renowned broadcasters for Olympic Games 2004

Chyron Corporation joined the cream of the World's athletic community in Athens at this summer's Olympic Games, providing a whole host of major players within the sports broadcasting arena with a wide range of state-of-the-art graphics products.
Major Korean broadcaster KBS installed seven HyperX SD character generators, Chyron's Award-Winning CG platform, transmitting live Olympic footage with real-time 2D and 3D animation. As the Olympic flame extinguished over Athens, KBS continues to use the HyperX SD CGs in the live sports field.
Viewers of ERT Greece's three national stations NET, ET1 and ET3 followed the all important scores and stats of the 10,500 competitors in 28 sporting categories, thanks to seven Chyron Duet character generators. ERT selected a mixture of single and dual channel Duet LEX and Duet LE systems for its coverage. The ERT sale and installation were carried out by Chyron's new Greek broadcast dealer and systems integrator, Calavitis S.A.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) selected Chyron's Duet character generator and Aprisa VCS for the third consecutive Olympic Games, providing production crews with the ability of varied and multiple sources of moving video for backgrounds and set design elements.
Continuing the sporting theme, two major Middle Eastern broadcasters have adopted Chyron's digital telestration sketchpad CODI-Strator. Transmitting both live and pre-recorded major sporting events, Dubai TV, a leading broadcaster in the Middle East is using CODI-Strator to enrich its programming by adding graphics, which can be sketched directly onto the touch screen monitor by the sports presenter during the broadcast. Throughout match intervals, the presenter can identify players and game plans on slow motion and freeze frame video, circling or marking with arrows specific areas on the screen.
Al-Jazeera Sports has also installed CODI-Strator, which enabled the leading Arabic sports network to introduce a new and exciting dimension to its Euro 2004 transmissions. Throughout the tournament, Al-Jazeera Sports commentators provided live, animated digital telestration using Chyron's CODI-Strator at the beginning and end of each match, as well as during the half time interval.
David Ward, VP & General Manager, Chyron EAME, said: "Chyron graphics excel in the live sports arena providing new and exciting graphical elements adding further to the suspense in any major sporting event. We are delighted that Chyron is recognised worldwide by many major players in the broadcast industry as the number one graphics product of choice."
