Globecast Completes Cloud-Focused Upgrade Of Singapore Broadcast Facility
Globecast has completed a major renovation of its Singapore facility, transforming the site into a cloud-centric, IP-enabled broadcast hub designed to support evolving media workflows across the Asia-Pacific region.
The company said the modernisation project forms part of its wider global strategy to upgrade infrastructure and support growing demand for hybrid and software-defined broadcast operations.
The redevelopment follows the recent launch of Globecast's new facility in Westlake Village, California, as the company continues to expand its cloud and IP capabilities worldwide.
Originally established more than a decade ago to support traditional linear broadcasting, the Singapore operation has now been redesigned to accommodate cloud, IP and OTT-based workflows. The project included the optimisation and reduction of physical infrastructure while introducing greater automation and operational flexibility.
The upgrade involved the reconfiguration of key operational areas including the Technical Operations Centre, Master Control Room and Playout Control Room. These spaces have been adapted to support cloud-based processing, IP connectivity and centralised monitoring systems.
Globecast said the facility remains fully hybrid, enabling support for both traditional broadcast services and next-generation cloud-native workflows. The Singapore site continues to provide connectivity, teleport services, playout and media management for hundreds of channels and services across the region.
"This project went beyond simply upgrading infrastructure," said Chris Pulis, CTO of Globecast. "It was a complete redefinition of a modern broadcast facility. By integrating cloud, IP, and advanced monitoring capabilities into a unified environment, we have am operations base in Asia that is more efficient, adaptable, and prepared to support the next generation of media services across the region. It also represents a significant step forward with our broader strategic plan of transforming our operations worldwide."
The nine-month transformation was carried out largely by Globecast's in-house engineering and integration teams, which managed the design, migration and implementation processes.
According to the company, maintaining uninterrupted customer services throughout the project was a central priority, with operations continuing without disruption during the transition.
"The Singapore upgrade marks a significant milestone for Globecast in the Asia-Pacific region and reflects how we are evolving our operations to meet the demands of today's dynamic media landscape," said Biliana Pumpalovic, Managing Director of Globecast Asia. "We have transformed the facility into a more agile, cloud-centric environment that supports both legacy and next-generation workflows. Most importantly, we accomplished all of this while maintaining 24/7 services for our customers, which speaks to the expertise and dedication of our teams."
