MultiDyne Marks 50 Years Of Innovation
MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems is celebrating its 50th anniversary as NAB Show 2026 approaches, highlighting five decades of innovation and growth across the broadcast and live production industries.
Founded in 1976 by Vincent Jachetta, an NBC engineer, the company began with the development of the TS-1 portable test signal generator, created in a family basement. The product became the first of its kind in the broadcast industry, earning MultiDyne an Emmy Award and establishing its engineering-led approach to solving real-world challenges.
Over the past five decades, MultiDyne has grown into a global provider of fiber-optic transport, signal processing and live production solutions. The company has achieved key milestones including two Emmy Awards for technological innovation, strategic acquisitions and international expansion, most notably with the opening of a European office in 2023.
"Our story is about more than just longevity—it's about evolution," said Frank Jachetta, CEO of MultiDyne. "From the very beginning, our DNA has been about seeing a problem and solving it. That mindset has carried us from a basement startup to where we are today, and it continues to guide where we're going next."
The company's second Emmy Award recognised its SilverBack system, which enabled the integration of cinematic cameras into broadcast workflows and transformed production across venues, houses of worship and other environments.
In recent years, MultiDyne has reported record growth, driven by increasing demand across live production, broadcast, digital cinema and professional AV markets. The company has expanded its infrastructure, engineering capabilities and product portfolio to support this demand.
International expansion has played a significant role in this growth. With a European office established in Poland and a growing network of global partners, MultiDyne is now targeting further development in the Asia-Pacific region.
"It's no accident that companies do their best in their own backyard," said Jachetta. "As we expand globally, we're creating new backyards. We are building local presence, support and relationships in regions like Europe and Asia to better serve our customers."
Looking ahead, the company is investing in emerging areas including IP-based workflows, video compression, cloud integration and software-driven technologies, while maintaining its core focus on high-quality video transport.
MultiDyne will exhibit at Booth C4425 during NAB Show 2026, which takes place from 19 to 22 April at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
