Riedel Expands Managed Technology Division In The Americas
Riedel Communications has announced the continued expansion of its Managed Technology Division in the Americas, alongside the appointment of Jan Schaffner as Vice President, Managed Technology Americas.
The move formalizes the company's long-term market development strategy and underscores its commitment to delivering specialized service solutions for sports and live production environments across the region.
Over the past several years, Riedel's Managed Technology Division has developed a structured go-to-market approach in the Americas, closely aligned with the company’s Product Division. As part of that strategy, the company has strengthened its regional presence with dedicated personnel, project management resources, and infrastructure in North America. This includes an operational base in Los Angeles and an additional hub in Concord, North Carolina, supporting growing activities in sports — particularly motorsports — as well as live events and other large-scale productions.
"We are here to stay — and we are investing in people, infrastructure, and long-term relationships across the Americas," said Lutz Rathmann, CEO Managed Technology at Riedel Communications. "With Jan leading our efforts in the Americas, we have someone who understands both worlds — our technology ecosystem and the realities of the U.S. market — and is well-positioned to bring them together. Having already helped establish our Managed Technology activities in the region, he is the right person to continue building the business locally together with our customers and partners."
Collaboration with existing rental partners and system integrators remains central to the company’s regional strategy. Rather than competing with traditional rental providers, the Managed Technology Division focuses on specialized service solutions and complex workflows that extend beyond classic rental models. By combining Riedel products with proprietary technology, operational expertise, and dedicated service teams, the company aims to complement the capabilities of local partners and support technically demanding productions.
Schaffner joined Riedel in 2018 and has played a significant role in developing the company's Managed Technology activities in the Americas. Most recently serving as Program Manager responsible for regional expansion, he has contributed to multiple innovation initiatives across global sports leagues and live event environments. In his new role, Schaffner will oversee the division’s continued growth in the Americas, with a focus on sustainable expansion, alignment with local market dynamics, and operational excellence.
"We are building Managed Technology in the Americas in a way that reflects the realities of the market," said Schaffner. "Rather than copying models from other regions, we are working closely with customers and partners to develop solutions that match how the market operates and where it is heading."
Riedel will showcase updates and solutions from its expanding Managed Technology Division at the upcoming NAB Show 2026, taking place April 19–22 in Las Vegas, where the company will exhibit at booth #C4908.
