Projecta introduces ideal viewing solution for home cinema

Projecta, a world leader in development, manufacture and sales of professional and home cinema projection screens, is introducing a new type of screen fabric.
The new high contrast diffuse reflective screen fabric has been specially engineered for home cinema set-ups.
“The new fabric has been engineered from scratch,” said Eric Kamerbeek, Head of R&D for Projecta. “We have taken all factors which go into home cinema viewing into account, such as seating arrangements, lighting conditions, darkening options, viewing schedules and typical home cinema equipment. Now, at last, Home Cinema owners can enjoy professional quality images in their own homes with a specially developed solution, thanks to Projecta’s decades of experience in developing high-quality professional products. Essential part of the total Home Cinema experience is picture quality. Consumers investing in projectors place a high priority on image impact. Often, consumers do not realise that an appropriate projection screen makes all the difference. Even the best projector requires a high quality screen in order to provide the performance it has been designed to deliver.”
The light grey surface of the high contrast projection screen provides deeper contrast values, deeper colours and great detail. This makes the new product ideal for situations in which video or digital images may be used as source for tabletop or ceiling-mounted projectors with average or high light output. Two types are currently available: supple High Contrast D projection fabric and High Contrast S. High Contrast D, with variable tension, will be incorporated in the following screen types: PermScreen, PermScreen Deluxe and TabScreen electrol. It offers a 0.8 reflection value and a 40º viewing angle. The fabric weighs 490 grams per square metre and is just 0.26 mm thick.
High Contrast S, available on ProCinema, Cinema electrol and VariVision projection screens, is robust and more rigid and coated on either side of its grey vinyl fabric. The fabric offers a reflection value of 1, and a 45° viewing angle and weighs 540 grams per square metre, thickness is 0,36 mm.
“Home Cinema owners are prepared to invest a fair sum of money in projection equipment,” said Peter A. de Kroon, Managing Director of Projecta B.V. “However, projecting on an unsuitable surface severely diminishes the picture quality, thus reducing the viewing experience for consumers. The image is not as clear and bright as it should be. Projecta is now successfully using its decades of expertise in professional presentation solution to provide best-in-class Home Cinema and professional presentation solutions featuring all the familiar Projecta trademarks: a clear, bright picture from every angle and attractive, ergonomically sound design!”
