AEQ Helps Deliver Thailand 2025 SEA Games

The 33rd Southeast Asian Games, staged from 9 to 20 December in Bangkok and Chonburi, brought together more than 9,000 athletes across 50 sports. To keep such a vast audiovisual operation in sync, the organising committee selected the AEQ XPEAK professional intercom as the primary communications backbone for broadcast production teams.

Deployment was managed by official distributor Mahajak Trio in partnership with AEQ Spain’s central technical services, delivering a configuration tailored to the event’s operational needs and ensuring a smooth roll-out.

AEQ XPEAK is an IP intercom designed for productions with teams spread across multiple locations. Its virtual networking links hardware and software user panels so they function as if housed in the same production centre, regardless of where they are actually based.

A built-in global interconnection assistant removes the usual networking hurdles. There is no requirement for static IPs, dynamic DNS or port forwarding, and devices automatically adapt to the local network. This enables immediate operation even on restrictive networks—an advantage at major international events where numerous technical infrastructures coexist.

In a typical arrangement, several XPEAK units operate at the main venue—within central production facilities or OB units—while additional panels can be placed in remote or home locations. Main-site devices only need outbound internet access to reach a cloud-based virtual network server, which manages bidirectional audio between local and remote panels.

This architecture supports distributed production workflows, optimises technical resources and provides high operational flexibility throughout the Games.

The XPEAK family spans rack-mounted and desktop user panels, wireless and wired beltpacks, PC software licences, and interface units for integrating third-party systems. Its versatility makes it a scalable choice for sporting events, broadcast operations, television studios and corporate environments requiring real-time professional communications.
