Sonnet Technologies to Debut Thunderbolt 5 Line-up at NAB Show 2026

Sonnet Technologies will unveil a major slate of new Thunderbolt™ 5 products at the 2026 NAB Show, highlighting next-generation docking stations, PCIe card expansion systems, and rackmount solutions designed to meet the demands of broadcast, post-production, and live production workflows.

At the show, Sonnet will debut two new Thunderbolt 5 docking stations—the Echo™ 20 Thunderbolt 5 SecureDock and Echo™ 21 Thunderbolt 5 SuperDock—offering an extensive range of connectivity options through a single Thunderbolt 5 cable. Both docks provide multiple Thunderbolt, USB-C, USB-A, Ethernet, display, audio, and memory card connections, while the Echo 21 adds an internal M.2 NVMe SSD socket supporting up to 8TB of onboard storage with transfer speeds of up to 6,600 MB/s.

Sonnet will also showcase new and shipping rackmount expansion systems for Apple® Mac mini® and Mac Studio® computers. The xMac mini (2024+)/Echo™ II DV T5 is a 2U rackmount solution that converts Mac mini systems with M4 Pro processors into expandable production workstations, adding two full-performance PCIe card slots via dual Thunderbolt 5 connections. Designed for high-bandwidth professional workflows, the system supports demanding PCIe cards such as video I/O, NVMe storage, and high-speed networking.

For higher-end workflows, Sonnet will present the xMac Studio®/Echo™ II DV T5, a 3U rackmount system that expands Mac Studio computers with M3 Ultra or M4 Max processors. The system delivers up to 6,000 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth per slot and is aimed at content creation, live production, and data-intensive environments.

Also on display will be the Echo™ II DV T5 Desktop and Rackmount systems, dual-slot Thunderbolt 5 to PCIe expansion solutions designed to support simultaneous, full-performance operation of two high-bandwidth PCIe cards. The desktop version targets workstation-based setups, while the 2U rackmount model is suited to studios, mobile racks, and OB trucks.

Sonnet will additionally highlight its now-shipping Breakaway™ Box 850 T5 Thunderbolt™ 5 eGPU for Windows® 11 systems. The chassis supports the latest NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, delivers workstation-level graphics performance, and includes an integrated Thunderbolt 5 dock for expanded connectivity.

Alongside shipping products, Sonnet will offer attendees a sneak peek at upcoming Thunderbolt 5 solutions, including multi-slot PCIe 4.0 expansion systems, high-speed 25Gb Ethernet adapters, ultra-fast SSD storage devices, and an innovative 2U rackmount system capable of housing a Mac mini alongside dual double-width video I/O cards.
