Zero Density Debuts Reality 5.7
Zero Density has released Reality 5.7, delivering significant workflow improvements and performance gains, including native NVIDIA DLSS support.
The update introduces a multi-channel execution architecture that lets graphics run in fully independent channels. Channels can be distributed across multiple Reality Engine instances or hosted as multiple channels on a single engine, with no software‑imposed channel limit. This applies to on‑air graphics, tracked AR and virtual sets, as well as non‑template graphics built with blueprints and Nodos actions.
The result is a unified, template‑driven workflow for AR, virtual studio graphics, overlays and video walls within a single, predictable execution model.
Zero Density has also expanded the Reality Editor project library. All IBC 2025 demo assets are now included with the engine distribution; they are royalty‑free, fully editable, customisable and can be taken on air without copyright concerns.
Reality 5.7 adds native NVIDIA DLSS with AI‑powered Ray Reconstruction via a unified neural renderer. This reduces visual noise and temporal artefacts in complex ray‑traced scenes, enabling higher‑fidelity real‑time ray tracing with more complex, high‑poly environments and physically accurate lighting. AI upscaling produces sharp 4K output from lower‑resolution renders while maintaining stable 50/60 fps.
A new Yadif node joins the node‑based compositor to improve interlaced video quality. Using spatio‑temporal analysis, it removes motion artefacts and combing from interlaced camera signals to deliver a cleaner, sharper progressive feed into the 3D pipeline, including for virtual video walls.
With Windows 10 support winding down, Reality 5.7 is fully tested and certified on Windows 11. Customers can contact Zero Density Support to plan upgrades.
Operational tools and licensing have been updated. Reality Hub Hardware Monitor is now included at no extra cost during an SLA term, offering a centralised, real‑time view of system health and configurations, with colour‑coded highlights to flag deviations and help detect potential issues early. Creating new REST API tokens no longer requires a licence (including for Reality Hub LE). The REST API adds numerous endpoints — including Lino playout — and allows administrators to set granular, token‑level access rights.
