Adare, County Limerick, will host the 2026 Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) Summit from 4–7 February, bringing together senior creatives, executives, and thought leaders from across the global screen industry for three days of discussion, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Organised by Women in Film and Television (WFT) Ireland, in partnership with WIFTI, the Summit marks the first time the event has taken place in Ireland. The programme will feature creative professionals from in front of and behind the camera, funders, broadcasters, commissioners, researchers, and advocates, highlighting Ireland’s growing international presence in film and television.

Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan TD, joined Dr Susan Liddy, President of WIFTI and Chair of WFT Ireland, to recognise the Summit’s significance.

Minister O'Donovan said: "Ireland has a strong and growing international reputation for creative excellence, collaboration and innovation in film and television. Hosting the 2026 WIFTI Global Summit in Adare is a significant moment for the sector, bringing global leaders to the Mid-West and reinforcing our commitment to gender equality, diverse storytelling and the future sustainability of the screen industries."

Dr Susan Liddy added: "This Summit is about connection, collaboration and leadership. We are bringing together voices from across the world to address equity, innovation, storytelling and the future of the screen industries, while showcasing Ireland’s talent, hospitality, rich landscapes and creative ambition on a global stage."

The Summit programme boasts an exceptional line-up of speakers, including:

• Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Ruth Negga (Passing, Presumed Innocent)

• Academy Award-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor (The Elephant Whisperers, The Lunchbox)

• Actor, director and producer Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead)
