Noiseworks Audio Launches VoiceAssist AI-Powered Vocal Cleanup Tool

News Image
Noiseworks Audio has announced the release of VoiceAssist, a new AI-assisted vocal and dialogue processing tool that expands on the workflow behind its DynAssist plug-in.

VoiceAssist is designed to significantly reduce the time required for voice cleanup while allowing engineers to maintain full control over the final sound. The software brings together six intelligent, voice-focused processes within a single ARA-enabled environment, offering a more integrated approach to vocal and dialogue editing.

Developed with input from mix engineers and post-production professionals, VoiceAssist can be used directly inside a DAW or as a standalone application, applying advanced processing only where needed with transparent visual feedback.

"VoiceAssist is really bloody good," said Rik Simpson, whose credits include Coldplay, citing the transparency of the processing, particularly de-essing, dynamic riding and resonance suppression.

Darrell Thorp, known for work with Beck, Foo Fighters and Poppy, describes the tool as something that "simply works", noting that only minor adjustments are required to achieve clean, usable vocals.

Cameron Craig, whose credits include Adele and Grace Jones, said VoiceAssist consistently turns problematic recordings into clean, balanced tracks with minimal effort.

At the core of VoiceAssist are six processing modules: Clean for AI-driven denoising, dereverberation and frequency repair; Lowend for low-frequency recovery and resonance control; Gate for intelligent, voice-aware gating; Dynamics for volume riding and loudness matching; Breath for transparent breath detection and reduction; and Sibilance for precise control of harsh consonants.

The software is available as both an ARA plug-in and a standalone application, supporting Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Studio One and Reaper through ARA integration. It is suitable for music production, dialogue editing, podcasting, audiobooks and fast-turnaround post-production.

VoiceAssist supports AU, VST and AAX formats on macOS and Windows, with licensing available through iLok or the Noiseworks licensing system. A fully functional trial version is available, and the standalone application supports export of audio and MIDI automation.
