VITEC Partners With Actelis Networks
VITEC and Actelis Networks have announced a new partnership aimed at expanding access to IPTV and digital signage for organisations operating on legacy RF coaxial infrastructure.
The collaboration brings together VITEC's IPTV and digital signage platform with Actelis Networks’ cyber-hardened Gigaline technology to enable IP video distribution over existing coax cabling, removing the need for expensive network retrofits.
The joint, market-ready solution is designed for facilities that rely on RF-only networks, allowing them to deploy modern IPTV and digital signage services without replacing existing infrastructure. By supporting IP video transmission over coax, the offering opens new addressable markets for both companies and makes advanced video services available to a broader range of venues and organizations.
"Our collaboration with Actelis allows partners to take advantage of their existing RF infrastructure, bringing IP video distribution to venues through coax cabling, with no need to retrofit Ethernet wiring," said Eli Garten, Senior Vice President, Global IPTV at VITEC. "This solution is designed for rapid deployment, minimal configuration, and robust performance, even in complex RF environments. It can be deployed gradually without disrupting operations and is suitable for large-scale installations with hundreds or even thousands of endpoints. This innovation will make IPTV a practical and accessible solution for a wider range of businesses and venues, and we’re excited to bring it to market."
The solution uses Actelis' aggregation and endpoint devices and software to enable seamless conversion between Ethernet and RF protocols. This approach supports efficient and reliable video delivery to thousands of endpoints while remaining compatible with legacy infrastructure and requiring minimal network changes. As a result, the system is well suited to phased deployments and large environments where continuous operation is critical. It can be implemented as a primary IP video transmission solution or deployed as a hybrid extension to existing IPTV systems that need to reach facilities still operating on RF-only networks.
According to the companies, the partnership was driven by a shared goal of addressing the limitations of legacy RF networks commonly found in stadiums, campuses, government buildings, and manufacturing facilities. By integrating Actelis' networking technology with VITEC’s IPTV platform, the companies aim to provide a plug-and-play solution that delivers high-performance video distribution without the cost and disruption typically associated with infrastructure upgrades.
