Limelight Networks Introduces Improved Online Video Solution
Limelight Networks has introduced an improved online video solution that will work with all browsers and operating systems, bypassing problematic browser plug-ins and working seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.
In a blog post the company said its version of SmartEmbed is completely rebuilt, with market leading technology and updated features and functionality. In anticipation of modern browsers moving away from browser plugins, and Flash in particular, Limelight has adopted HTML5 playback as the primary way to show video. And, by basing its HTML5 player on open source, Limelight can provide customers with ongoing improvements made by the open source community. All this is included in the Limelight service and is available immediately.
