Czech TV Modernises Streaming With Harmonic XOS

Harmonic has announced that Czech Television (Czech TV), the Czech Republic's public broadcaster, is overhauling its video streaming operations with the company’s software-based XOS Advanced Media Processor.

By bringing transcoding in-house, Czech TV gains tighter operational control and aims to deliver higher-quality streaming experiences to millions of viewers.

Built on a cloud‑native foundation, the XOS media processor combines AI-powered EyeQ™ content-aware encoding with an end-to-end playout-to-delivery toolset. It supports distribution across mobile, web apps and HbbTV, and enables Czech TV to create multiple video profiles, add subtitles and insert logos for pop-up channels to increase audience engagement. XOS also provides advanced audio mixing to deliver descriptive audio for impaired audiences, fostering a more inclusive streaming experience.
