Telestream Releases ARGUS v2.3
Telestream has announced the release of ARGUS v2.3, introducing Live Look — a major new feature that allows operators to visually and audibly inspect live and on-demand streams directly within the ARGUS monitoring environment.
Designed to provide rapid validation of service health and quality, Live Look enables real-time playback and audio confirmation inside the consolidated ARGUS dashboard, allowing operators to experience exactly what viewers see and hear without switching between tools.
ARGUS, part of the Telestream iQ suite, provides centralised monitoring for video distribution networks, offering complete end-to-end diagnostics through high-level dashboards and detailed analytics. With the addition of Live Look, media operations teams can now isolate issues more quickly, reduce recovery times, and increase confidence across the delivery chain.
"ARGUS centralises correlated channel observability across the entire delivery chain and at scale," said Ken Haren, Director of Product Management at Telestream. "ARGUS helps operations teams focus on what matters by surfacing precise, timely, and actionable insights. With the launch of ARGUS v2.3 and the new Live Look capability, teams can now view any monitored stream in real-time directly in the ARGUS dashboard, enhancing diagnostic confidence and speeding up escalation decisions."
Previously, validating alarms often required operators to alternate between multiple dashboards and third-party tools. Live Look brings this directly into ARGUS, enabling instant verification of impairment alerts, assessment of viewer impact, and more confident escalation. Telestream says this will significantly reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and improve operational efficiency.
The feature addresses a long-standing need for large-scale visual confirmation, particularly for organisations managing hundreds of linear or OTT channels across dispersed teams. It offers immediate insight into issues ranging from missing audio to unexpected silence, all without leaving the ARGUS interface. Combined with Telestream’s “monitoring by exception” approach, Live Look helps reduce cognitive load by focusing attention on genuine deviations rather than constant feed monitoring.
Alongside Live Look, the latest release includes several updates intended to strengthen security, streamline configuration, and enhance monitoring precision:
• Enhanced SSO-Enabled User Management: Integrated support for third-party SSO/MFA to simplify authentication and standardise access policies.
• Automated Lineup Import/Export: Faster configuration and alarm template management through API and UI automation, particularly beneficial for multi-site operations.
• Improved Audio PID Monitoring: More granular control over audio PID alerts, with logical grouping by codec, language or role for smarter monitoring.
Together, these features reinforce ARGUS as a scalable, consolidated platform for multi-format, multi-point observability that reduces manual data correlation and ensures operators focus on high-value insights.
As live and OTT workflows become more complex, Telestream says operations teams require tools that can quickly pinpoint faults across distributed systems. ARGUS aggregates insight from across the monitoring chain to show not only when an issue occurs, but where it originated and how it impacts service delivery.
With Live Look, ARGUS v2.3 brings the immediacy of a traditional multiviewer into a modern, software-based observability environment, providing operators with the confidence and context they need at the moment it matters most.
