Big Blue Marble Selects 3SS

3 Screen Solutions (3SS) has been chosen by Big Blue Marble to provide the viewer-centric Android TV Custom Launcher and apps for Android TV, Samsung and LG smart TV platforms for its TV-as-a-Service platform.

The Frontend Apps were developed using the 3Ready Framework, the award-winning user experience solution designed and developed by 3SS.

The platform is designed to support Tier 2 and Tier 3 cable operators and OTT service providers across international markets. It enables multi-tenant services to be tailored to reflect operators’ brands and offerings, concurrently providing a modern TV entertainment experience to subscribers worldwide.

SEI Robotics' cost-effective Android TV-based STB was selected as the hardware foundation for the managed end-to-end platform.

Big Blue Marble is the new international B2B media technology brand created by ORS Group, Austria’s national broadcasting services provider, and video streaming experts Insys VT, which designed and developed the new TV-as-a-Service platform and partnered with 3SS and SEI Robotics to further enhance the user experience.

The solution features a new 3SS-engineered and co-designed UI/UX and benefits from comprehensive configuration capabilities based on the 3Ready Framework. It is also optimized for delivery via a new managed Android TV STB provided by SEI Robotics. The new device is designed for reliability and essential functionality and features Amlogic 5th generation SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of flash storage.

In close collaboration with Big Blue Marble, 3SS has additionally created and delivered apps to enable services on Android TVs, LG, and Samsung smart TVs.
